The common area was large, clean, and a true representation of classic Cuban architecture. Each room was incredibly clean and had both AC and fans which are remote controlled, as well as a safe and a mini fridge stocked with bottles of water, sodas, and beers at very cheap prices. The house was very comfortable for our large group - everyone had their own bed, and there was a bathroom in every single room with hot water and standard hotel amenities (soap, toilet paper, towels, etc). I took a group of 7 LGBTQ Cuban-Americans with me to Havana and we stayed at Valle Havana with homeowner Belkis. I highly recommend them for your stay in Havana! Thank you Belky, I hope to be back!… Overall my stay at the hostal transformed what started as a very stressful day into an unexpected gift. There is wifi which was so appreciated as I worked in rebooking my flights. In the afternoon there was a sudden thunderstorm so I came in from exploring and was immediately invited to a coffee and conversation. They were friendly and open to chat but never pushy.
Belky and her husband were available with tips on where to walk, eat and what do nearby. The common courtyard is inviting with plants and tables and a TV. The AC worked great, the bathroom was the best I experienced in Cuba with great water pressure and temp control in the shower. The space was spotlessly clean, the room was tasteful and comfortable with 2 comfy beds and mini fridge. Belky came to the rescue, interrupting her lunch to get a room ready and welcomed me into her beautiful hostal. I had a flight cancelled and was scrambling to find accommodation for one last night in Havana.
